Two women in suits converse in a modern retail setting with large windows, clothing racks, desks, and plants. One holds papers, the other smiles near a laptop.

As you know, training your employees has a big impact on the success of your business and employee engagement metrics. We’ve spoken about the importance of training in other blogs such as Why Investing in Employee Development is a Smart Strategy.

So, how will you train and grow your employees this year? We understand it can be costly.

Did you know you can access grants to offset your employee training costs by 50-83% throughout Canada?

The Canada Job Grant program exists in all Canadian provinces and territories under different names. The program is a cost-sharing initiative between the federal, provincial/territorial governments, and employers designed to help businesses train existing or new employees for jobs.

Each jurisdiction is responsible for implementing and administering the program, leading to slight variations in eligibility requirements, funding maximums, and application processes.

Here are the names of the grant in all provinces and territories:

Alberta: Canada-Alberta Job Grant (CAJG)

British Columbia: B.C. Employer Training Grant (ETG)

Manitoba: Canada-Manitoba Job Grant

New Brunswick: Canada-New Brunswick Job Grant (CNBJG)

Newfoundland and Labrador: Canada-Newfoundland and Labrador Job Grant

Northwest Territories: Canada-Northwest Territories Job Grant

Nova Scotia: Canada-Nova Scotia Job Grant (CNSJG)

Nunavut: Canada-Nunavut Job Grant

Ontario: Canada-Ontario Job Grant (COJG)

Prince Edward Island: Canada-Prince Edward Island Job Grant

Quebec: Quebec offers various financial assistance programs for business training, distinct from the direct "Canada Job Grant" naming convention, such as the Provincial Government of Quebec training programs.

Saskatchewan: Canada-Saskatchewan Job Grant (CSJG)

Yukon: Canada-Yukon Job Grant

For specific program details, including how to apply and current funding criteria, consult the relevant provincial or territorial government websites.
